DEATHPACT

Our team at BassDropProps had the incredible opportunity to work on a project for DeathPact, a renowned musical artist known for their unique sound and striking visual aesthetic. The main objective of the project was to update and improve the original Deathpact mask, making it fully functional and comfortable for the wearer while still maintaining the iconic design that fans know and love.

To achieve this goal, we started by taking the original visor shape and designing a custom LED chassis to enhance the desired design. Our team used 3D modeling to create all the necessary parts, which were then 3D printed using the SLS method to ensure precision printing for the small walls and chambers. We also printed a new visor buck to be vacuum-formed and tinted all visors with the parts painted black to reduce glare and ensure maximum visibility for the wearer.

The final assembly included around 700 pixel LEDs and all the necessary wiring. Once the LEDs were attached to the chassis, the visor was slid into its respective place, where it fully attached. To ensure maximum comfort, we incorporated a custom head harness that evenly distributed the weight throughout the head.

Our team faced various challenges throughout the project, but the most significant obstacle was the 3D design. We had to make sure certain parts fit, such as the visor sliding into a plastic chassis, and that everything was flush to reduce glare. Despite these challenges, the final outcome was a success, and we were thrilled to have four completed masks sent off in time for Deathpact's Midheaven tour.

The DeathPact project is unique and special because we used a lot of trial and error from past projects to create something exceptional. We were able to combine new ways of printing with the original design to create a fully functional mask that's used weekly, if not daily. The sleek, modern design, and LED grid make it easily distinguishable among fans and the music industry, setting it apart from others in the industry.
